Smith.ai answers your phone with an AI receptionist, and it can hand a caller to a live human agent when things get complicated. People shopping for alternatives usually want a lower bill or a different way of being billed. Here's what Smith.ai charges, then what three other AI receptionists on our board charge, each read off the vendor's own pricing page.
The catch is that all four count different things. Smith.ai counts calls, Goodcall counts unique callers, and Rosie and Dialzara count minutes. Compare them using your own call volume, not the sticker price.

The math at 100 calls a month
Say 100 calls a month from about 70 different people, averaging 3 minutes each (300 minutes). Smith.ai AI Pro is $150 for 75 calls plus 25 extra at $2.50, so about $212.50. Goodcall Starter covers 100 unique callers, so it's $79. Rosie Professional includes 250 minutes, and we don't quote its overage rate because it wasn't on the page, so look at Scale ($149, 1,000 min). Dialzara Business Pro covers 220 minutes for $99, plus 80 extra at $0.45, so about $135. Your numbers will be different, so plug in your own.
Where Smith.ai earns its price
Smith.ai is the only one of the four with its own staff of live receptionists: its AI can hand a tricky call to a North America-based human agent, per its pricing page. Rosie and Dialzara can transfer calls, but to your own team. If a botched call costs you a $2,000 job, that backup can be worth the extra. If most of your calls are "are you open Saturday?", a per-minute or per-caller plan is probably cheaper.
What the stamps mean
All four are UNRATED: we have prices from the vendors, but no linked owner reports yet about whether people kept using them. We don't make up star ratings. Using one of these after 3+ months? Tell us. How we rate.
